Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church is seeking an innovative Intergenerational and Neighboring Minister to design, plan, and implement vibrant learning and serving opportunities for children, teens, and adults and oversee ministries that foster deep relationships across all ages. This detail-oriented leader nurtures a rich spiritual life, cultivates lasting intergenerational relationships across all levels of the congregation, and engages with the broader community. Proactive and strategic, this minister translates vision into action. By prioritizing transparent communication, they empower and motivate volunteers and congregants to cultivate a welcoming, inclusive, and highly collaborative culture.

Intergenerational and Neighboring Minister’s Essential Functions:

  1. With Learn Team, champion vision and goals, design, coordinate, and implement a cohesive ministry for children, youth and adults using a team-approach that involves regular and intentional faith formation experiences, young people in community together, fostering of authentic intergenerational relationships, inspiring curiosity and spiritual interest, and experimenting with all-ages learning, service and worship opportunities.

  2. Partner with Serve Team to develop transformational relationships with diverse organizations, local churches and people in the greater community for the purpose of service, learning, outreach, and shared programming.

  3. Recruit, train, motivate, develop, support and provide leadership for a dedicated volunteer base to build relationships, facilitate faith formation experiences, and liaison with neighboring community.

  4. Collaborate with Pastor and Worship Team to include children and youth in leadership roles; advocate for families; and curate age-appropriate resources to expand worship engagement.

  5. Collaborate with Office Staff to provide targeted, effective and consistent communication and promotion of activities including impact stories to students, parents, and congregation.

This is a part-time position (25 hours per week). Compensation will be based on experience and length of service.
